Unbelievable how quickly the year is passing - we are past the halfway mark.

The first weekend in June Nick rode from his place to ours - took about two hours I think.  Amazing how you can quickly progress from "couch potato" status to a two hour and many many kms rider???
Mel drove down with the children so an enjoyable day for me too!  Laura and I took the kids to Mt Ommenay shopping centre which was quite an experience - particularly as little Coen wanted to run away all the time!

The following weekend I headed again to Christchurch.  I had booked this a while ago knowing we had a public holiday on the Monday so gave me a long weekend with no time off work.  I suggested Jane come down too - so she booked and then we found out Mark had previously booked the same weekend!  So all the Dent family together again!  It was quite a special time. Jane and I managed to arrive at the airport within 10 mins of each other - after texting - her in Auckland and me in Brisbane very funny that we arrived together - good old Jetstar NOT!

It was hard to say goodbye this time because I am not sure when I will be back.

The next Friday night we met the kids for dinner in the "valley".  If I have a weekend when I haven't seen them I need a "fix" - a bit like drugs ha ha.

The following weekend we decided to give Nick and Mel a break and have the kids for Friday night, the day on Saturday and then take them home all bathed and in jamas Saturday night.

However Mel and Nick have decided we don't hear Coen wake up - just put plenty of food in his tummy, warmed the room up and hey presto slept all night.  Laura slept in next room and I am sure she would have heard him ......................... well maybe??
